Edward (a.k.a. Ned) Millett has been an artist since he was 16. A native San Franciscian, he knew Bob Kaufman, meditated with Allen Ginsberg at Dharmatadu in 1970, and has been a friend of Jack Hirschman, S.F.’s Poet Laureate, 2006-07 since 1976. Ned was the first bay area artist to use the mandala in his work (1962). He had a show with Susan Cervantes, S.F.’s preeminent muralist, at the Live Worms Gallery in January, 2008, and has a room in the U.S., Chinese Art Museum in Oakland, Ca. He has a B.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute, January 1965, and was in the M.F.A. program in 1970. Ned also did post-graduate work in Asian Art History away from campus in 1971-1972.
